Run a 5K on the Flight Line at MCAS Miramar
Located at the world-famous Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Miramar flight line, this unique opportunity provides 5K participants the option to run or walk Miramar’s Flight Line. This is one of only two times a year we open the airfield to the public. This intimate experience will get you up close and personal with your Marines at your Air Station, and live entertainment by MCAS Miramar’s 3D MAW Band, Color Guard, and announcements made by the Installation Seargent Major.

Free Parking
Free parking is available on base through the Harris Plant Gate Road (location listed above) starting at 6:00am. There will be signs directing traffic to the parking location near the run location.
Ticket Categories
- Individual Active Duty Military Entry: this ticket is $35 and your ID will be verified when you’re checking in for the race.
- Individual Entry (Individuals 13+): $45
- Individual Entry (Children 5-12): $25
- Groups of 25-49 people get 15% off of individual entry and groups of 50+ are eligible for 20% off. Child entries will not be discounted in large group pricing.
What's Included
- Tickets include a commemorative shirt and a military challenge coin.
- There will be free water and snacks after the race.

Strollers and Exceptional Family Member Wagons
If you're participating in our event with young children or individuals with special needs who rely on strollers, carriages, or wheelchairs, we want you to know that they are absolutely allowed! We believe in inclusivity and ensuring that everyone can join in the excitement. Whether you're pushing a stroller or using a carriage, we welcome you with open arms. For safety reasons, all strollers, carriages, wheelchairs, etc. will start at the end of the wave.

The parking lot opens at 6:00am, check-in begins at 6:30am, and the Flight Line 5K begins promptly at 8:00am.
All participants will receive a commemorative event t-shirt, a souvenir marine Corps Challenge Coin, and chip timing will be provided. Strollers are allowed on the course, and children 4 and under can participate for free.
If you registered by June 12th and reside in California, your race number will be mailed to you free of charge. If you registered after that date, you can pick up your race number on event morning. For groups with 25 or more participants, please email us for special registration rates!
Medals
Awards will go to the Top 3 individual males and females in the following age groups:12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
Service Animals
Please note that only service animals are allowed on the base and at the event, and they must properly and clearly display that they are a service animal. The animal must be under the control of their owner at all times. Emotional support animals do not meet the threshold of a service animal, and it is the owner's responsibility to properly care for their service animal, especially on the hot tarmac.
